"New Spirit-Filled Life Bible"

The "New Spirit-Filled Life Bible" is a New King James Version Bible, edited by Jack W. Hayford. This Bible offers many tools to help you get the most out of your Bible, and help you get deeper into the Word than ever before. Key features include an introduction to each book of the Bible, with important information, such as the author, date written, content, and how it can be personally applied to our life. Another really neat feature of this Bible is the "Word Wealth" notes that appear throughout, which focuses on the translation, meaning, and deeper definition of key words in the Bible. There is also a "Kingdom Dynamics" section that also appears throughout that reiterates and goes into further detail about key passages in each book of the Bible, an includes cross references for more information on that topic.

Each page of this Bible has the bottom section devoted to notations that help explain what you are reading on that particular page. The back of the Bible offers several useful resources, such as an extensive concordance, as well as brief informative articles, covering topics such as "How to Lead A Person to the Savior: Principles of Personal Evangelism", "Holy Spirit Gifts and Power" and "The Holy Spirit and Restoration".

I really liked this version of the New King James Bible - I thought it offered a lot of helpful resources but yet still stays true to the traditional version of the text. The little additions, sidenotes, and articles really just help the understanding and comprehension of the Bible.

"Humble Orthodoxy" by Joshua Harris is a book that is built on changing the attitudes that some have when it comes to their religious beliefs. This book focuses on the importance of not only having the right beliefs, and the right foundation in our Spirit, but also the right way of applying it in our own life. It is so easy to espouse our beliefs and recite Biblical facts, but it is an entirely different issue to actually apply it to our own life, and live it. This book is packed with humility, generosity, and truthfulness essential to living our life not only as followers of God, but living with the heart of God.

I would recommend this book to any Christian who desires to live as God intended. This is a great book, very well written, and easy to understand and follow.

Simply Delicious Amish Cooking

"Simply Delicious Amish Cooking" by Sherry Gore is a collection of amazing and delicious recipes that are commonly made in Amish homes. This cookbook offers a variety of recipes, from breads, soups, salads, meat dishes, and desserts. We tried a few of these recipes in our house, and I have to say that they were delicious! We made the home made egg noodles, and also made the chicken and dumpling recipe to go with it. I have never had such a delicious bowl of chicken and dumplings! Also, we made the cream soup, and added potatoes and cheese, which is also absolutely awesome. I would highly recommend this cookbook to anyone who is looking for some tasty home made meal ideas, as it offers tons of delicious and healthy options. I love this cookbook, and it will definitely be a staple in my cooking for my family.
