Compass Study Bible

"The Compass Study Bible" is a new Bible that was created by the same team that created "The Voice" New Testament Bible. What makes this Bible most unique is the way it is written. This Bible reads almost like a play - The text indicates who is speaking, followed by their words. This does make it a little bit easier to follow exactly what is happening in the actual text. The translation of this Bible easy to understand, and uses modern language that helps make this Bible less of a challenge to read.

There are lots of notes that interject the text itself, with helpful notes about traditions, rituals, and lifestyles of the people in Biblical times. These notes appear within the text, rather than as footnotes, making them less challenging to read as you are reading the text of the chapters. The notes are relevant and helpful, and I thought this was a great additional feature.

Overall I would give this Bible a 4/5. The only thing I thought it really could have used was some color. This is pretty much a black and white Bible. I thought it could have used some colorful maps, notes, or study features to help make it more appealing.

This would be a great Bible for anyone who finds it a struggle to follow the events happening in a traditional Bible. With the play-like text, it is very simple to follow. I'd recommend this Bible for ages 16 and up.
