"101 Bible Stories" is a compilation of some of the most loved Bible stories. The stories are easy to read, and very short, which makes them perfect for an independent young reader to read all on their own! Each story is only one page long, and there is a picture on the opposite page, usually of a character in the story as the illustrator envisions him or her. The illustrations are beautiful, and almost resemble oil paintings - they take up one full page for each story. I loved that this book compiles stories from BOTH the Old and New Testaments.
Young children can learn all about Jesus' baptism, Lazarus, Queen Esther, Ruth and Naomi, and the story of Jericho, plus many, many more, all on their own. I loved how simple the stories were, using language that is easy for a younger child to understand easily. I would say that this book would be the perfect Bible Story book for beginning readers, most likely ages 5 and up.
I loved everything about this book, from the durable hard cover, to the beautiful illustrations, to knowing that it was something that represented Biblical stories without going too far off point, like some other books tend to do. This book is perfect for the young audience it was created for - Love it!
